Public land Tom! 9 Jakes came through in the morning and pounded down the decoys for hours. Called it at 11:30am when a couple guys walked through the spread heading further into the woods. Got back out around 5pm, called in a hen almost immediately and then more jakes, 3 more hens. While one of the jakes was mounting the hen decoy I began calling to try and bring in a Tom to catch jake in action. After about 30 minutes of calling and striking up the long beards 4 finally came in and spooked off the jakes. At 7:50pm took this guy using @powercalls @beauhunter66 Signature Series Mocking Bird, Avian-X HDR 1/4 jake & hen feeder, and with a Federal Premium TSS load at 15 yards. Night night. 🦃💤

8 Jake’s DESTROYING a jake & hen decoy opening morning! 🦃😬
The one on the hen stuck around for almost a whole hour trying to mate that thing. Dusting, strutting, mounting, the whole show. Then gobbled at it for another 20min from the field before getting spooked by a father and son walking back to their spot.
